This is a joint concert with the San Francisco Boys Chorus and the Great Wall Youth Orchestra of Laney College, which issupported by the Purple Silk Music Education Foundation (PSMEF),Oakland's non-profit music education program for inner-city youth.
About the East meets West performance, SFBC’s Artistic Director Ian Robertson says “It’s going to be a very exciting and colorful collaboration gathering our two groups to perform traditional Western music alongside the sounds of the Chinese ensembles. I couldn’t be happier that we are putting on this special concert in the glorious space of the Cathedral of Christ the Light and yes, the two groups will perform together in a special finale.”
