ULI (SF) will host a workshop at the Chamber entitled:
Growth and Sustainability: impacts of SB375
Over the next 6 months, key decisions will be made in determining recommended growth strategies in accordance with Senate Bill 375. SB375 is state legislation that requires alignment between regional land-use and transportation planning, and the climate protection targets assigned to each region by the California Air Resources Board. As regional agencies assess the proposed Sustainable Community Strategies, and alternatives under the California Environmental Quality Act, they are guided by SB375.
Key issues for the real estate community include:
1. What is SB375 and what are the Sustainable Community Strategies?
2. What are the five proposed growth scenarios?
3. How do local developers perceive the impact of SB375 on future development?
4. What are the next steps and timelines for implementation?
Speakers:
Michael Ghielmetti, President, Signature Development Group
Ken Kirkey, Planning Director, Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC)
Ezra Rapport, Executive Director, Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG)
