The Propeller Club of Northern California - Luncheon Event with David M. Rider

Rev. David M. Rider is President and Executive Director of the Seamen's Church Institute (SCI) of New York and New Jersey. The SCI has mission centers in New York City, Port Newark, Paducah, KY, Houston, TX and Oakland, CA and is the largest and most comprehensive mariner's service organization. Founded in 1834, it connects face-to-face with nearly 85,000 mariners each year. Rev. Rider will discuss its Center for Maritime Education and Center for Seafarers' Rights.

He will also make a presentation on piracy and the findings of SCI's international project to create best practice guidelines for the evaluation and treatment of cross-cultural and mobile seafarers impacted by piracy.
