As a response to President and Michelle Obama's national call to service (Let's Read, Let's Move), the Northern California branch of the Corporation for National and Community Service is holding its annual summer book drive to help raise books for Oakland's underprivileged youth.

All day, everyday until the end of July Decorated white book collection bins are located in the lobbies of: 1301 Clay St. (Federal building), 1515 Clay St. (CA State building), 150 & 250 Frank Ogawa Plaza, Oakland's City Hall, 555 12th St., 1111 Broadway, 1300 Clay St., 505 14th St., 500 12th St. and 1333 Broadway FREE

We are asking anyone and everyone to donate any children's books to our cause. We have book collection bins already set up in the lobbies of select Oakland buildings including but not limited to: the Ronald V. Dellums Federal Building, the Elihu M. Harris CA State building, City of Oakland buildings located at 150 and 250 Frank Ogawa Plaza, Oakland's City Hall, 1111 Broadway and 1300 Clay St.
All books collected in this drive will only go towards children living in the Oakland area who have little to no access to books. Please help out in any way you can! EVERY BOOK COUNTS!Date and Time
