Join the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and the Oakland Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Tony Smith on Wednesday, November 14th as he discusses his strategic vision for Oakland Public Schools.
Unanimously approved by the Board of Education in June 2010, Smith's blueprint calls for the transformation of OUSD into a full-service community school district where families have access to health, physical education, nutrition, medical, dental, recreation, housing, employment, job training and language acquisition services on-campus, establishing the school as a hub for the entire neighborhood.
Come learn the critical role students, families, teachers, staff, government agencies, non-profits and the business and faith communities will play in creating full-service community schools that improve outcomes for students and strengthen our city.
