Oakland’s Dimond District hosts its 5th Annual
Oakland’s Family-Friendly Craft Beer Festival
(4 blocks of fun branching out from the intersection of Fruitvale Ave. and MacArthur Blvd.)
OAKTOBERFEST IN THE DIMOND returns for its 5th year of fun, community-building, and festivities. Saturday October 6, 2012 - from 11:00 am - 6:00 pm and is FREE to the public. Oakland Mayor Jean Quan taps the first keg at 10:45 am in a traditional Munich style Oktoberfest kick off. Please visit www.Oaktoberfest.org.
Highlights throughout the festival, include the Bill Brand Biergarten (at Fruitvale Ave. and MacArthur Blvd.) with 20 local craft breweries and the Mad Zymurgist Homebrew Competition hosted in the HopTech Homebrewers’ Alley.
The Family-Friendly Rootbier Garten & Family Stage filled with fun for the entire family
The Main Stage with traditional German and modern Oakland entertainment - AND, plenty of food and vendor booths in-between, including beer-food pairings, German inspired artisan entrees, alongside traditional favorites to satisfy everyone.
This year a Bavarian Big Band takes stage with Deutscher Musikverein of San Francisco along with performances by “Big Lou the Polka Princess.” Street Dancing – Bavarian style with the Golden Gate Bavarian Dancers and some Oakland flavor at the About the Music - Dancing in the Dimond venue, with many other surprises and treats are in store...
