A key tenet in the success of community policing is a strong, working relationship between the police department and the citizens of the City. Please take this opportunity to make a meaningful connection with your future officers.
The event will help connect the citizens of Oakland with OPD, Neighborhood Watch, Neighborhood Services, and Oakland PAL among other groups involved in making East Oakland safe. OPD is conducting personal safety seminars every hour and will have several vehicles present, including the mobile command center. OPF is giving away safety whistles, there will be food, fun and hopefully a lot of people coming out to welcome the new officers
