John L. Allen, Jr., to speak on global persecution of Christians

The Global War on Christians will be the subject of a talk by John L. Allen, Jr. at the Cathedral of Christ the Light in Oakland on March 18 at 7:00 pm. A reception and book-signing will follow Allen?s presentation. Admission is free, as is parking in the Cathedral garage; garage capacity is limited and early arrival is encouraged. Allen, Jr. recently became an associate editor of the Boston Globe, covering global Catholicism. He also is the senior Vatican correspondent for CNN. From 1997 until his appointment to the Globe, he worked for the National Catholic Reporter. Allen is the author of nine books; his most recent, The Global War on Christians: Dispatches from the Front Lines of Anti-Christian Persecution, was published last October.
