Haydn's Creation: Singer Recruitment

Join Cantare Con Vivo in singing Haydn's The Creation. We will perform in English, using the translation created by Robert Shaw and Alice Parker, and published by Alfred Music. Perform with solists and full orchestra on Saturday, March 25 in Walnut Creek and Sunday, March 26 in Oakland. Second only to Handel's Messiah in popularity, it has remained Haydn's greatest work since its premier in 1798. In this monumental oratorio, Haydn sets texts from the Books of Genesis, Psalms, and Milton's Paradise Lost. Rehearsals are highly organized, productive, and rewarding. Singers will participate in a group audition following the first rehearsal on Sunday, January 8th to ensure high musical caliber and success.

About Us: Cantare Con Vivo (To Sing With Life) is an inter-generational non-profit choral music organization that engages participants from ages 5 to 80 from Alameda and Contra Costa counties. We provide tuition-free choral music residencies to Title 1 (under-served) K-12 children in the Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) serving approximately 2,400 students through 83 classes weekly and 9 youth choirs. Our highly acclaimed 110-voice symphonic Chorale and its 24-voice Chamber Ensemble offer seven different concert programs annually that are affordable and accessible. The choirs have performed over 130 different concert programs, presenting more than 1,500 compositions, including numerous major choral/orchestral works.
