(Oakland, CA) – Assemblymember Sandré R. Swanson (D-Alameda) will make opening remarks at the Fourth Annual Financial Planning Day in Oakland on Saturday, October 1, 2011. The clinic is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Oakland City Hall (1 Frank H. Ogawa Plaza, Oakland, CA 94612) and is sponsored by the East Bay Chapter of the Financial Planners Association, in collaboration with Assemblymember Swanson, Senator Loni Hancock, and City of Oakland Mayor Jean Quan.
''Financial planning and literacy are essential steps in securing a stable and secure financial future,'' explained Assemblymember Swanson, who has sponsored the event for the last four years. ''The financial planning clinic and education forum brings certified financial planners to the table with community members, providing them with the fundamental tools and knowledge to take control of their financial futures.''
The Fourth Annual Financial Planning Day will include free and private one-on-one consultations with dozens of certified financial planning professionals. The private services and workshops are free, confidential, and unlimited.
