Oakland Symphony Chorus presents
Discovery Day on Ralph Vaughan Williams' 1936 cantata
Dona Nobis Pacem (Grant us Peace).
OSC Discovery Days are a blend of educational workshop, musical presentation and opportunity to sing through sections of fine choral works.
Dr. Lynne Morrow, OSC's Music Director, will be joined by conductor and choral director John Kendall Bailey and baritone soloist Zachary Gordin. Together they will guide you on a journey into the depths of this beautiful and haunting work which explores the emotional territory of war. Hear about composer Vaughan Williams and what motivated him to compose this piece. Sing select portions of the piece with OSC members.
