Art History Lecture Series: Garry Winogrand
Executive Director Johanna Leonard will present an art history lecture on Garry Winogrand, a photographer widely acknowledged as one of the most important photographers of the 20th century. Winogrand captured moments of everyday American life in the postwar era and did much of his best work in New York. The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) presently has a retrospective of his work on display including 100 pictures printed for the first time from undeveloped film Winogrand left behind when he died suddenly at the age of 56.
