Stories From The Road: Documentary Filmmaking
Wellington Bowler is an Oakland filmmaker and two-time Grammy award winning location sound recordist who has worked in more than 40 countries on film projects.
He will take about some of those experiences—particularly those working across Africa. Join us to discuss key questions behind documentary filmmaking: Why do we consider documentaries to be ‘non-fiction’? What happens in between the scenes we see? What is the effect of a camera and crew on people’s behavior? What scenes are left out?
