A History of California Through Its Rocks and Fossils with Maya Wildgoose
Our beautiful state has had one of the most tumultuous and fascinating geologic histories of any place on earth. This talk will include an overview of that history, fleshed out by fossil and rock samples taken from around the state that have captured different moments in geologic time. Ms. Wildgoose will also bring state maps that highlight the different mineral and rock features we can find on the surface.
Maya Wildgoose currently teaches Earth Science at Vacaville High School. She received her B.S. and M.S. in geology from UC Berkeley and UC Davis, respectively. She loves sharingg her in-depth understanding of the forces that shape our physical planet with others.
