Art History Lecture - Proximities 1
Programming Coordinator Alicia Gonzales will present an art history lecture on The Asia Art Museum's collective show: Proximities 1 which presents themes related to landscape, imagined and real. Asia influences are pervasive in U.S. culture, perhaps nowhere more so than in the Bay Area. But we each encouter Asia differently - some have intimacy of lineage, while others might have little awareness. In Proximities, a three-part exhibitiion, a multiplicity of perspectives come together, which works to stimulate dialogue around individual ideas about Asia. This exhibitiion was curated by Glen Helfand, an independent writer, critic, curator and educator.
