Everybody Needs A Place
Presented by St. Mary's Center and Rodney Bell
St. Mary’s Center, a community of hope, justice, and healing serves at-risk seniors and preschoolers in the heart of Oakland. Our services particularly address the needs of seniors who are homeless or at-risk. St. Mary’s Center’s staff Susan Werner and Aleta Manual will identify conditions in our society that contribute to homelessness. We will discuss St. Mary’s Center’s services and advocacy to end homelessness. Musician and artist Rodney Bell, a former resident of St. Mary’s Winter Shelter, uplifts St. Mary’s community through his music and art that portrays first-hand experiences of homelessness. Rodney will speak about his journey from homelessness to being housed and what benefits people who are homeless.
