Holiday Tree Lighting Back by popular demand, the holiday tree lighting ceremony is a tradition guaranteed to spread cheer to everyone. Join us at City Center Plaza in the lighting of the city's official Holiday Tree, visit Santa, listen to youth choirs and enjoy holiday treats. Bring a new unwrapped toy to contribute to the Mayor's Toy Drive. The Tree Lighting Ceremony is co-sponsored by the Downtown Oakland and Lake Merritt/Uptown Business Districts, Oakland City Center and The City of Oakland.
