logistics cluster, and provide more time to follow up on the substance of the keynote speaker’s presentation.
Potential discussion points could include: How has this sector changed since the 2007 Oakland Partnership

area is the client is base strongest? What are the challenges to attracting new business in this sector? Will
those challenges be similar going forward?
Health Care – This panel of major hospital administrators will discuss both the expansion of care and observed changes in the sector with the passage of the Affordable Care Act. This esteemed group will parse what the next 8 years (that is until 2020) will bring both in terms of quality care and facility construction for each institution, especially as the first deadline for compliance approaches in 2014.
Exploring Oakland’s Culinary and Entertainment Renaissance - Visit Oakland CEO Alison Best will moderate a panel of the movers and shakers that are redefining Oakland’s culinary and entertainment scene. This panel will examine Oakland’s thriving design sector and burgeoning entertainment cluster in the city. It will explore what Oakland’s “place” is in the larger state context as a functioning entertainment center with sports and music. Panelists will also examine the intersection of creativity, entertainment, dining and technology. How has the expanding dining and entertainment scene and art celebrations contributed to a flourishing Oakland? How can these kinds of events be leveraged for small business expansion, or raising the profile of Oakland nationwide?
