The Diocese of Oakland will hold its first-ever Blue Mass to honor emergency responders in our diocese. The Mass will be held at The Cathedral of Christ the Light in Oakland on Wednesday, October 2 (the Feast of the Guardian Angels), with the Most Reverend Michael Barber, Bishop of Oakland, presiding. Those who work in the areas of law enforcement, fire and emergency response at the local, state, and federal levels will be recognized for their contribution to the safety of those who live in our diocese, which comprises Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. All are welcome. Active-duty personnel are asked to attend in uniform.
