Roman Catholic Diocese of Oakland Bishop Michael C. Barber, SJ, invites all active and retired law enforcement officers, firefighters and first responders from the East Bay to join him for the annual Blue Mass on Thursday, October 9 at 10:00 am in The Cathedral of Christ the Light, Oakland. The Blue Mass is a liturgical ceremony in which law enforcement, fire suppression and emergency response personnel on the local, state and federal levels working within a geographical area gather for a special celebration and blessing for their work on behalf of the community. Civilian, sworn employees and retirees of these entities who are working in the East Bay are invited to attend. Please RSVP to Arlene Beaman, abeaman@oakdiocese.org by September 30.
