Kathryn Weber, 510-635-3663, ext. 328Alameda County Community Food Bank Leadership Series featuring Jamie Zaninovich, the Pac-12’s Deputy Commissioner
Known as the “Conference of Champions,” the Pac-12 is one of the nation’s most well recognized and respected collegiate athletic conferences. Host to both Cal Bears and Stanford Cardinal, it also plays a major role in the fabric of the Bay Area.
Jamie will offer his insight into the story behind the Pac-12, its expansion, and the role it plays nationally and among the 12 member universities. He will also discuss the conference’s connection to community—an often overlooked element of community engagement among Pac-12 athletes.
Jamie joined the Pac-12 in 2014 and is responsible for the Pac-12’s administrative operations, including television, championships, football bowl relationships and compliance.
He has overseen reforms to student-athlete benefits and the addition of the Pac-12 Student-Athlete Leadership Team. Prior to his role, Jamie spent six years as commissioner of the West Coast Conference (WCC), during which time he was named to Sports Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” list.
Space is limited in what promises to be an insightful discussion and Q&A with Mr. Zaninovich.
The Leadership Series brings together local community-minded business leaders and thought-provoking speakers. This intimate event includes light refreshments and a tour of the Food Bank.
