SUMMARY:Small Business Lunch & Learn: Business Succession Planning
DESCRIPTION:In May\, the Oakland Chamber Small Business Lunch & Learn welcomes:\n \n\nBrian Ripley\n\nLaw Office of Brian A. Ripley\n \n\nAttendees will learn:\n\n* The fundamentals of succession planning \n\n* Setting goals and determining steps for your exit strategy\n\n* How to maximize the value of your business to potential successors\n\n* Why a succession plan is critical if you own a business.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMost business owners don't think about their exit strategy until they approach retirement. By then\, many of the most attractive options are out of reach\, either financially or otherwise. Ideally\, the best time to start thinking about your succession plan is when you start your business. This workshop will explore the fundamentals of succession planning\, and the steps needed to achieve this important goal.\n\n\n\nSince 1983\, Oakland attorney Brian Ripley has been advising Bay Area entrepreneurs on the best ways to optimize and capture the value of their businesses and provide for their family's long-time term security. \n\nEvery month\, the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce aims to host a Small Business Resource Lunch event for our members and their employees. Topics are based on our members' needs and desires for further awareness and education.\n\n\n\nTopics will range from Social Media to Retirement Plans for Small Business to Referral Marketing and Sales.\n\n\n\nUpcoming events will be listed on the chamber calendar. Please contact Cory Nott (Cory@ReferralInstituteOakland.com) if you have any questions about these events. The cost for each Lunch & Learn event is $10 per member\, and $15 per non-member. Lunch is provided. Let us know if you have any dietary restrictions in advance and we will do our best to accomodate
