SUMMARY:Oakland Business License Tax Proposal - "Fact Vs Fiction"
DESCRIPTION:This fall the Chamber is relaunching our popular Economic Development Forums as monthly Economic Resiliency Roundtables as part of our ongoing work to build a robust economy that enables local businesses to weather the current COVID 19 business conditions\, while rebuilding the foundation needed for future economic growth. September?s roundtable will examine a hot topic of the summer ? local business taxes. \n\n \n\nThe City of Oakland is currently forming a Blue Ribbon Commission to look at restructuring Oakland?s business taxes in 2022\, thanks to a Chamber-led community coalition that advocated for a more inclusive process and analysis before tax rates are change. Join us as we explore Oakland's current business tax system and its implications to small businesses and the economic ecosystem. The event will feature\, Margaret O'Brien\, Revenue and Tax Administrator for the City of Oakland.
