She has a B.S. and M.B.A. from Clarion University and a Ph.D. from Ohio State University. Dr. Swartz was named dean of the College of Business and Economics at California State University\, East Bay in December 2007. She spent 11 years on the faculty of Arizona State University where\, among other positions\, she was director of research for the Center for Service Leadership.\n\n \n\nJust prior to joining CSU East Bay\, Dr. Swartz was a professor for 16 years at the Orfalea College of Business at California State University\, San Luis Obispo. She has worked on marketing research projects in southern Africa\, the Middle East and Europe\, in addition to the United States.\n\n \n\nDr. Swartz's expertise and insight into how education is shaping business leaders\, in particular\, businesswomen\, promises to make this event enlightening.
