DESCRIPTION:Teri Barr has been teaching brain fitness to older adults for the last 6 years. She loves sharing her knowledge of how human brains work and how they can thrive at any age. "There is so much one can do to improve ones own brain health and encourage those we love to improve theirs. Our brains are plastic\, meaning malleable\, and\, given the right circumstances\, we can grow new neurons and create new synapses."\n\n	 \n\n	Join Teri Barr for a lively discussion and fun and challenging brain fitness exercises. Teri is the former Brain Health Educator and Coordinator for Oakland Unified School District's Adult Education Program. She has served as a facilitator\, staff trainer\, and curriculum developer for the Older Adult Brain Health program. Teri received the Professional Adult Educator award (2006-2007)\, and the OUSD's Brain Fitness Program was a finalist in the 2010 Sharp Brains innovation awards.Teri Barr received her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and her MSPE in Physical Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Currently she continues to learn as much as she can about how the human brain works.
