DESCRIPTION:Urban Run-Off and the Lake Merritt Clean Lake Program\n\n	 \n\n	With over 120 members\, the Lake Merritt Institute is a community based\, non-profit corporation that works with volunteers\, schools\, and the City of Oakland to maintain the cleanliness of Lake Merritt\, and provide educational outreach to the Easy Bay community. The Lake Merritt Institute began the Clean Lake Program in 1996 and has been removing 1\,000 to 6\,000 pounds of trash from the lake each month under a contract with the City of Oakland. This presentation will provide information on the natural history of the lake\, city projects\, news\, photographs\, and urban run-off.
