| East Bay native Janèt Sullivan Whitaker is an internationally renowned composer of music for the Catholic Church. Oakland's Cathedral of Christ the Light will host a concert of her original works, from her new CD, This Place of Perfect Peace. In this concert, Whitaker will be joined by combined parish choirs from throughout the Oakland Diocese under the direction of Mark Sullivan. A percentage of proceeds will go to Catholic Charities of the East Bay, a non-profit organization that works with youth, children and families to promote self-sufficiency, strengthen families and pursue safety and justice. |
