September Program
The Future of the T5/6 Lot in Oakland’s City Center
A presentation by:
WILLIAM GOODMAN & SCOTT STAFFORD, Strada Investment Group Management Team

Join us for a very special September Economic Development Forum with William and Scott of Strada Investment Group. In early 2014, the Strada Investment Group, which bought two office buildings in City Center last year (505 14th Street and 1300 Clay Street), entered into an exclusive negotiating agreement with the City of Oakland to develop three city-owned parcels that sit directly behind the 1111 Broadway office tower between 11th and 12th streets. This key area, also known as the “T5/6 lot” has the potential to be a catalytic project for downtown. Come learn more about their plans for the space in the coming year.

STRADA INVESTMENT GROUP is a real estate investment and development firm focused on high-barrier-to-entry urban markets. Headquartered in San Francisco, the firm unites under one roof a team of executives with senior level government experience in public finance and development with leading real estate private equity professionals. Since its inception in April 2010, Strada has closed over $180 million of real estate investments in the San Francisco Bay Area and is currently working on over 4 million square feet of development in San Francisco and the East Bay.

Sep 16    A Room Full of Referrals

Turn a Crowd of Strangers into a Room Full of Referrals®

Presented by Dawn Lyons, Master Trainer for the Referral Institute and author of "Room Full of Referrals® and how to network for them"

Tuesday, September 16th, 2pm to 6pm

Did you know...

  • It takes 3 seconds for a person to form an opinion about you at the very first meeting
  • Approximately 20-40% of people will decide they are uncomfortable dealing with you
  • Approximately 10-15% of people will simply dislike you

How much business could you be losing because people are making unfair decisions about you, based on your handshake, clothes, tone of voice or facial expressions?

What is that costing you or your company... each week?  each month?  each year?

What if we could show you, in a fun interactive workshop, proven methods to build rapport with almost anybody. You will understand what motivates them and how to communicate with them effectively so that the relationship stands a much better chance of success.

'Room Full of Referrals' will do just that!

This interesting workshop will teach you how to identify your own behavioral style and that of others and how to interact with them to get the most out of any relationship. The knowledge you gain will greatly improve your networking skills, as well as all future relationships, professional or personal.

You will learn:-

  • How to identify your own behavioral style and the behavioral style of people you meet.
  • How to build rapport with them.
  • How to communicate with them.
  • How to set future appointments to ensure your best chance of success.

What Others Have Said About Room Full of Referrals...

"I'd just like to say "wow"!

The Referral Institute's 'Room Full of Referrals®' is perhaps the single most powerful networking tool since NLP for understanding the internal drivers that make people tick.

It's simple, precise and easily transferable.

I'm a "Promoter/Go-Getter" and I know how to read everyone else's 'style' within seconds.

Within 3 hours I was able to understand how to effectively enhance every communication and relationship because I had a better way of predicting how everyone will react."

Dave Crane, Life Designer. Motivational Trainer, Speaker & Hypnotist

"As soon as I returned from the Room Full of Referrals, I modified my approach to take into account that this customer was a "Promoter". This immediately led to an agreement and resulted in AED 8000 worth of business to us."

Dr Amanda Nimon Peters, Managing Director at Sara Black Intl. (Training & Talent Development)

"I decided to analyze his behavioral style and changed my approach in dealing with him that has led to a deal worth Dhs 10,000 for now with him with a lot more in the future. Thank you!"

Niraj Modha, Managing Director Dar Al Ibda

Sep 29    After Five Reception hosted by Sequoyah Country Club

Join us for the September After Five Reception!
Founded in 1913, Sequoyah Country Club is nestled among Monterey pines and redwoods in the hills of Oakland, California. Located outside the chilling fog band that comes off the San Francisco Bay, Sequoyah has earned the title among golfers as the best kept secret in the Bay Area.

The exquisite Spanish style clubhouse, convivial staff and loyal and friendly membership provide a precious retreat from the hustle of commerce and urban life — all accessible within minutes from most areas of the greater East Bay.

Be sure to maximize your time at the event by:
· Bringing lots of business cards for serious networking.
· Inviting a friend or coworker.
· Donating a door prize to get recognition.
