Visit Oakland serves as the umbrella organization for all visitor-related travel to Oakland. Its mission is to increase tourism’s economic impact to Oakland through destination development and brand management. Alison Best joined Visit Oakland as its president & CEO in September 2012. Since then, Alison has focused on various marketing and public relations strategy to promote the city as a world-class travel destination.


Since 2003, Margo Dunlap has served as the Executive Director of ProArts Gallery. Pro Arts' vision is to inspire creativity, community and change via three key program areas: Visual Arts, Arts Education and Artist Services. Annually, Pro Arts produces over 20 exhibitions, exhibits over 600 artists, and conducts over 700 art classes for youth. ProArts Gallery is celebrating its 40th Anniversary this year


Lori Fogarty has served executive director of the Oakland Museum of California (OMCA) since March 2006. Oakland Museum of California (OMCA) exhibits and programs explore and reveal the factors that shape California character and identity, from its extraordinary natural landscapes, to successive waves of migration, to its unique culture of creativity and innovation. The museum currently offers Friday Nights @OMCA- a family friendly event that includes food trucks, live DJs and reduced admission.

Dana King, stepped down from her 15-year journalism career with the local Channel 5 (KPIX) news, relocating to Oakland in 2012 to pursue a second career as an artist. Since then she has been working on her daily studio practice. Her sculptures and paintings are featured in exhibits around the Bay Area, including the local Thelma Harris Art Gallery.

Learning First Aid is important for our everyday life. Small accidents happen all the time, therefore, it is good to learn what to do in those situation. 

If you sign up for the Heartsaver First-aid class you will learn the following topics: bleeding control, seizures, epi pen use, allergic reactions, snake bites, broken bones, poisoning, and other life threatening emergencies. This course is for renewing, recertification, or initial student and is considered a basic first-aid class.

Jack London Square invites everyone to a lively evening of song and dance on the waterfront with free screenings of popular musicals. Both families and film fanatics will enjoy these cult classics on special evenings at sundown including the classic The Wizard of Oz, Oscar-winning Chicago and last year?s smash hit Frozen, along with a theatrical troupe as they sing and dance along with the movie.
