Taizé is an ecumenical form of meditative prayer originating from Taizé, France. Short verses of Taizé chants are repeatedly sung, as a form of meditation. The music is sung in English, as well as in various other languages and is accompanied by live musicians, such as the piano and cello. Also there are readings, prayer intercessions, silence, and an opportunity to venerate the cross. Taizé is an hour long and is a wonderful way to experience a peaceful, calming, and spiritually uplifting time of prayer. All are welcome and no experience is necessary.
The hour long prayer will include a variety of instruments, and songs/prayers spoken in various languages. Join the Cathedral of Christ the Light for an exciting multi-cultural experience!
